In a cage match to the death, no weapons, who do you think would win?
I always say a good martial artist or boxer would win, but when I ask my friends they instantly say "lion, duh" every time.
What do you think....
iunno?
CHUCK NORRIS.
The Lion....... Kung Fu gets no where when a 600 pound animal with more power in one slash than you could ever generate is attacking you.
I think people drastically underestimate our own species.
We have something the lion doesn't have, a huge freaking brain.
A lion would jump in the air to pounce on someone, if that someone was a pro boxer he would just punch it in the stomach/throat and it would die.
Yet we don't have the benefiets of the other speicies.
I bet a lion of pounds of muscles of fat that would surely block, and protect any amount of force a human can put out. Their anatomy is also different, so any weakpoints a human may have, the lion probally doesn't. Why do you think people use to hunt lions and tigers with guns instead of muscled men and sticks?
ya lions rly strong own human
Think about it. A man, though smart, has always had to rely on using weapons and tools to kill animals so much more massive than himself. Besides, you underestimate the intelligence of a lion. It won't just recklessly attack, it will do what it believes will give it the instant win, whether it be by pinning you down or biting your neck.
Also, by using specific things such as "what if this person were in there" you defeat the purpose of the question. The question is standardized since it was asked if a man could defeat a lion. Basically, that means the average man against the average lion. The lion wins, no contest, flawless victory, fatality.
I would place my bet on the Lion, assuming both the human and the lion are aware it is a fight to the death.
Lions do not blindly charge a stationary opponent. A boxer or martial artist will not be able to 'dance' around a lion. They are extremely quick and powerful. It would be pretty useless for the human to attempt a punch (length of arm probably < distance to target plus reflex of lion >= human), so the person is left with kicking. If the person attempts a kick the Lion will most likely completely avoid it (due to the distance it keeps and its reflexes) which would probably be the end of the fight. Go ask the greatest fighters in the world how long they think they can handle a 400 pound lion digging its teeth and claws into their soft flesh, and if they would be able to throw any effective counters during this mawling.
Though if you ever actually do encounter a lion and your bare handed; step one, do NOT run.
How about a 50 pound raccon vs an athletic 220 pound cop, no weapons?
But seriously though, I say the lion would win.
